Shakira O'Kane, Esq.

Principal & CEO

As Principal of Mission Obsessed, Shakira O'Kane, Esq., brings the unique blend of legal acumen and nonprofit expertise that transformative organizations need. Her mission? Being your organization's systems fairy godmother – fixing what's broken, elevating what's good to great, and keeping people at the heart of every solution.

 

Armed with a law degree from Emory University School of Law, certificates in Nonprofit Management from Duke University and Fundraising from Temple University, Shakira combines rigorous strategic thinking with practical nonprofit solutions. With over a decade of experience in fund development and grant writing, she has secured numerous six-figure awards that have helped organizations achieve and exceed their fundraising goals. Her deep understanding of how to craft compelling narratives has consistently turned mission statements into funded realities.

 

Her approach is both systematic and deeply human. Whether optimizing operations, developing leaders, or building sustainable fundraising strategies, Shakira ensures that processes serve people, not the other way around. She specializes in working with social justice-focused organizations, helping them amplify their impact while staying true to their core values.

Treva Patton, MPA

Director of Strategy and Operations

As Director of Strategy and Operations at Mission Obsessed, Treva Patton, MPA, brings over a decade of expertise in transforming organizational vision into measurable impact. Her career, spanning education reform, youth development, and public service, reflects a consistent commitment to data-driven solutions and community-centered progress.

 

Prior to joining Mission Obsessed, Treva served as Partnership Lead at YouthTruth Survey, where she championed student voice in school improvement initiatives nationwide. Her tenure at the NYC Department of Education as Director of Intergovernmental CTE Programs & Partnerships showcased her ability to build powerful cross-sector collaborations, managing multimillion-dollar initiatives and developing innovative workforce programs that connected education to real-world opportunity.

 

Drawing from her experience at Good Shepherd Services and The Fund for Public Advocacy, Treva brings a unique blend of operational excellence and strategic insight to nonprofit organizations. Her finance background from Penn State University, combined with a Master's in Public Administration from Baruch College and executive education in Entrepreneurship from Wharton, gives her a distinctive perspective on sustainable nonprofit growth and impact measurement.
